The Bosque

Historically a water source and village gathering place, the bosque along Galisteo Creek is now a wildlife preserve with some public access.  Cottonwood trees shelter more bird species than anywhere else in Santa Fe County.  A shady trail welcomes bird watchers, dog walkers, and horseback riders in dry weather. Monsoons bring high water and legendary mud, recording the range of wildlife visitors. The bosque represents the heart– and health of Galisteo.
